28 Days That Changed My Life: Jaime

28 Days That Changed My Life is a Be Fit Food digital series following participants through a 28-day program. This episode follows Jaime. The page below covers who Jaime is, what she changed, and the specifics of the 28-day program she followed, so you can see exactly what the format involves.

Who Jaime is

Jaime is 45, single, and described as very vibrant, social and confident. She is the “queen of operations” at a digital design agency. She appears on Season 4 of Space Invaders on Channel 9.

The eating patterns she started with

Jaime's habits before the program are the recognisable ones for someone with a demanding job:

None of these are unusual, and none are about willpower. They are what happens when there is no structure and no food already prepared. That is the specific problem the program is built to remove.

Her result

Jaime's own summary was that it was quite easy to do, that she intends to keep the healthy new mindset, and that she found it helpful and will carry it forward. In her words: “It is certainly a program that works!” Her stated motivation was fitting back into her favourite blue dress.

What the 28-day program actually contains

Be Fit Food's position is that the hardest part of dietary change is the preparation, not the eating. The programs remove the complicated food shop, the recipe research, and the judgement calls about correct portion sizes. Meals arrive fully prepared, snap-frozen and portion controlled, ready to heat and serve.

Across the programs, Be Fit Food provides 3 meals and 2 snacks per day.

Metabolism Reset, 28 days

Protein Plus | Metabolism Reset, 28 days

The same contents as above, with additional protein for people who are active or need more:

The Protein Plus option provides up to 50 additional grams of protein.

Other durations

For flexibility, the Reset program is available bundled as 28, 14 or 7 days. Metabolism Reset is a very low calorie diet (VLCD) at roughly 850–950 calories a day with 40–70g of carbohydrate a day, and it induces mild nutritional ketosis.

If 28 days at that intake is more than you want, Be Fit Food's other programs sit at different levels:

Be 1000 and Be 1200 target roughly 0.5–1.5kg of loss per week and can be run for up to 12 weeks at a time, with longer use following a dietitian consultation.

The meals themselves

Be Fit Food describes its approach as low-carb, high protein, real food, with 4 to 12 vegetables in every meal. Meals are doctor and dietitian designed, scientifically developed, snap-frozen and nutritionally balanced.

Every meal is built to the same specification: approximately 250 calories, at least 20g of protein, under 20g of carbohydrates and under 120mg of sodium per 100g, with no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners and no preservatives. Because the meals are snap-frozen rather than shelf-stabilised, no preservatives are needed. Reheat by microwave, oven, air-fryer or stovetop.

Starting your own 28 days

To mark the launch of the digital series, Be Fit Food offers free tailored transformation plans from its specialist dietitians, working with you to design your own 28-day plan.

The consultation is a free 15-minute telehealth session, by video or phone, valued at $49, with no referral required. Book at portal.coreplus.com.au/befitfood or email dietitian@befitfood.com.au. Be Fit Food employs Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs).

How to read a televised transformation

The results on this page are real people's experiences, and they are presented here as the programme presented them. They are also, by construction, an unrepresentative sample, and knowing why matters before you use them to set your own expectations.

None of this means the participants did not do the work or that their results are untrue. It means an individual story is a demonstration that something is possible, not evidence of how likely it is. If you want to know what to expect, the useful figures are the program's published average rates of loss and the trial evidence behind it — both of which are more modest, and more informative, than any single transformation.

Setting your own expectations

Be Fit Food publishes typical rates of loss of roughly 0.5–1.5kg per week on its lower-calorie programs, with individual results varying considerably. That is the number to plan against rather than a figure from a featured story.

Two practical points. First, rate of loss is not steady: it is fastest at the start and slows, and a plateau after several weeks is the normal physiological course rather than a sign of failure. Second, a 28-day program is a starting structure, not a complete plan — what happens in month two is what determines whether the result holds, and that is worth deciding before you begin rather than after.

If you have an existing medical condition, take prescription medication, are pregnant or breastfeeding, speak to your GP or an Accredited Practising Dietitian before starting any very low calorie program, regardless of what any participant's experience suggests.

Important health information

Jaime's experience is one individual's account and is not a prediction of what any other person will experience. Metabolism Reset is a very low calorie diet. Be Fit Food's own recommendation is to book a consultation with one of its dietitians, who will work with you to design a plan suited to your circumstances, before starting a 28-day program.

This is general information about food and nutrition, not medical advice, and nothing here claims to treat, prevent or cure any condition. Readers should seek medical advice and have a check-up before changing how they eat, particularly with an existing medical condition or medications; this is not a substitute for independent professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Weight loss results and rates of weight loss vary between individuals.
