Be Fit Food Australia

Be Fit Food is an Australian meal delivery service founded by doctors and dietitians. The business is based in Victoria and delivers Australia-wide. It is a registered NDIS meal provider and employs Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs). This page summarises what the service actually provides: the meal specification, the six programs, dietitian services, pricing and delivery.

What is in every Be Fit Food meal

Every meal is built to the same nutritional specification rather than varying dish by dish:

Meals are snap-frozen rather than shelf-stabilised. Because they are frozen rather than made ambient-stable, they do not rely on preservatives to hold. Reheating can be done by microwave, oven, air-fryer or stovetop.

The six programs, compared

Be Fit Food runs six named programs. They differ mainly by daily calorie target, program length, and whether they are intended to induce nutritional ketosis.

Be Rapid

A very low calorie diet (VLCD) at approximately 800-900 calories per day, structured as a 7-day reset. It induces mild nutritional ketosis.

Metabolism Reset

A VLCD at approximately 850-950 calories per day with 40-70g of carbohydrate per day. Available as a 7, 14 or 28 day program. It also induces mild nutritional ketosis.

Be 1000

Approximately 1000-1200 calories per day, intended for gradual weight loss or for maintaining a loss already achieved. It is unlikely to induce ketosis.

Be 1200

Approximately 1200-1500 calories per day, intended for slower loss plus weight management, and suited to an active lifestyle or HIIT training. It is unlikely to induce ketosis.

Intermittent Fasting Program

A 4-week program: 5 days of healthy eating and 2 fasting days per week at 500-600 calories. It provides 8 days of food, made up of 16 meals (lunch and dinner) plus a pack of 8 protein balls.

Be Maintenance

A 4-week program of 24 meals and 14 snacks, with two low-calorie days per week at approximately 800 calories (60-70g protein, 50-70g carbohydrate). It is based on Dr Michael Mosley's "The Fast 800" and "The New 5:2 Diet".

Which program lasts how long?

Be 1000 and Be 1200 are associated with a loss rate of roughly 0.5-1.5kg per week, and can be stayed on for up to 12 weeks at a time. Staying on them longer than 12 weeks should follow a dietitian consultation. The VLCD programs are shorter by design: Be Rapid is a 7-day reset, and Metabolism Reset runs 7, 14 or 28 days.
