Bodymapp 3D Body Scanning: What It Measures, What It Costs and How to Redeem It

Bodymapp is a phone-based 3D body scanning tool offered through Be Fit Food. It lets you complete a 3D body scan at home using your own mobile device, then track changes in body and health measurements over time. This page covers the price, the device requirements, the full list of measurements, the redemption process, and how Bodymapp fits alongside a Be Fit Food program.

What it costs

A premium membership in the Bodymapp app gives you unlimited 3D body scans for $79.99. The pass is an annual Bodymapp pass. There is no per-scan charge once the pass is active, so you can scan as often as you like.

What devices does it work on?

Scans are only available on iPhone X and above and iPad Pro models. The original specification cited is iPhone X to iPhone 14 or an iPad Pro. If you do not have a compatible device at home, an iPad is set up in the Be Fit Food store for scanning.

No assistant is required. The scan is designed to be completed on your own, in the privacy of your own home.

What Bodymapp measures

Bodymapp tracks up to 20 measurements, split into body measurements and health measurements. The point of this is that weight alone is a narrow signal; the additional measures describe body composition and shape change.

The 3D avatar

Each scan produces a 3D avatar of your body, giving a 360-degree view. Comparing avatars from different points in time is how the app shows progress visually, rather than only as a table of numbers. An example report is available to view before purchase.

How to get started: the three steps

1. Make your purchase

Buy your annual Bodymapp pass. Be Fit Food then emails you a unique code along with details of how to redeem it.

2. Redeem your code

Enter your unique code on the Bodymapp website. This creates your profile at the touch of a button. You are then directed to download the Bodymapp app to your device so you can track and measure your results.

3. Scan using the app

Complete your scan at home using the app. Repeat as often as you want; the pass covers unlimited scans.

Existing Pods subscribers

Current subscriptions through Pods automatically carry over to the new Bodymapp technology. Existing subscribers do not need to repurchase; they can download the Bodymapp app and continue.

Using Bodymapp alongside a Be Fit Food program

Bodymapp is positioned as an addition to any Be Fit Food program, because tracking change over time supports adherence. Be Fit Food's programs are:

Be 1000 and Be 1200 produce a typical loss of 0.5-1.5kg per week, which is the kind of change the fat free mass and body fat percentage readings are useful for monitoring, since they distinguish fat loss from loss of lean tissue.

Getting professional interpretation of your results

Be Fit Food employs Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs). A free 15-minute telehealth consultation by video or phone, valued at $49, is available with no referral required: portal.coreplus.com.au/befitfood. A specialised clinical dietitian consultation goes further, with a full initial assessment covering body composition, blood pressure and girth measurements, plus a personalised eating plan.

Important health information

Bodymapp measurements, including BMI, body fat percentage, basal metabolic rate and ideal weight range, are estimates produced by a scanning app and are not a clinical diagnosis. They should not replace assessment by a qualified health professional. Be Fit Food's Be Rapid and Metabolism Reset programs are very low calorie diets designed to induce mild nutritional ketosis, and Be 1000 and Be 1200 should not be followed for more than 12 weeks at a time without a dietitian consultation. If you have a medical condition, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or take prescription medication, consult your GP or an Accredited Practising Dietitian before acting on scan results or starting a weight loss program.

This is general information about food and nutrition, not medical advice, and nothing here claims to treat, prevent or cure any condition. Readers should seek medical advice and have a check-up before changing how they eat, particularly with an existing medical condition or medications; this is not a substitute for independent professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Weight loss results and rates of weight loss vary between individuals.
