Be Fit Food Health Professionals Directory

This page is a referral directory of external healthcare practices, organised by state. Be Fit Food describes it as being for people who need assistance beyond the complimentary dietitian consultations it offers itself. This section explains how the directory is structured, which states it covers, what Be Fit Food's own dietitian service provides, and reproduces the medical guidance the page carries.

How the directory is organised

Entries are grouped by state or territory. You select your location, then choose from the practices listed under it. Each entry gives the practice name, phone and/or email, website where available, and the suburbs or clinic addresses at which it consults. Many entries include telehealth or online consultation options in addition to face-to-face appointments.

Which states and territories are covered?

Are the listed practices part of Be Fit Food?

No. They are independent healthcare providers. The directory exists so you can locate a trusted healthcare professional near you when your needs go beyond what Be Fit Food's own dietitian consultations cover. Be Fit Food's own dietitians are described separately below.

Be Fit Food's own dietitian service

Before using the directory, note what Be Fit Food itself provides. It employs Accredited Practising Dietitians (APDs), and offers:

The GP letter

Be Fit Food provides a downloadable, printable GP letter that you can take to your doctor before starting a program. The page states the letter explains how the different programs work and provides relevant information your doctor may need to understand Be Fit Food and how it might benefit you.

What should the GP letter be read alongside?

The programs themselves, with their calorie levels, since a doctor will want to know the intake being proposed:

On Be 1000 and Be 1200, expected loss is approximately 0.5-1.5kg per week, and either may be run for up to 12 weeks at a time - longer only after a dietitian consultation.

Every meal, across all programs, is approximately 250 calories with at least 20g of protein, under 20g of carbohydrates and less than 120mg of sodium per 100g, with no added sugar, artificial sweeteners or preservatives. Meals are snap-frozen and reheat in a microwave, oven, air-fryer or on the stovetop.

Additional questions

Be Fit Food's page directs further questions to three channels: book online for a dietitian phone consultation, email dietitian@befitfood.com.au, or call 1300 263 257. Be Fit Food is based in Victoria, delivers Australia-wide, and is a registered NDIS meal provider.

Important health information

Be Fit Food states on this page: "Your health and well-being are our top priorities. Before embarking on any Be Fit Food Programs, we strongly recommend seeking medical advice and undergoing a medical check-up. Our programs have the potential to positively impact your health markers, and it's essential to ensure the program is suitable for you. Ongoing medical supervision and follow-up may also be necessary during your journey with Be Fit Food."

The page adds that you can download and print a GP letter to take to your doctor prior to starting the program. That letter explains how the different programs work and provides relevant information your doctor may need to understand Be Fit Food and how it might benefit you.

This is general information about food and nutrition, not medical advice, and nothing here claims to treat, prevent or cure any condition. Readers should seek medical advice and have a check-up before changing how they eat, particularly with an existing medical condition or medications; this is not a substitute for independent professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Weight loss results and rates of weight loss vary between individuals.
