Be 1000 Program
Be 1000 provides approximately 1000–1200 calories per day. It is the Be Fit Food program chosen by people seeking slower, more gradual weight loss — and by those maintaining a weight loss they have already achieved.
It suits an active lifestyle, and it is deliberately educational: the program is structured to teach carbohydrate awareness and portion control, so the Be Fit Food eating philosophy carries over into your own cooking once the program ends.
Be 1000 compared with Be Rapid
These two programs work differently and it matters which one you are on.
- Be Rapid is a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) providing approximately 800–900 calories per day, designed to put the body into a state of mild nutritional ketosis.
- Be 1000 provides approximately 1000–1200 calories per day and is unlikely to induce mild nutritional ketosis.
Be 1000 trades speed for sustainability. If rapid metabolic reset is the goal, Be Rapid is the relevant program; if gradual loss or maintenance alongside an active life is the goal, Be 1000 is.
Expected rate of weight loss
The program provides fewer calories than your body needs, so weight loss occurs at an approximate rate of 0.5–1.5kg per week. Weight loss results and rates of weight loss vary and depend on the individual.
How long you can stay on Be 1000
You can remain on the program for up to 12 weeks at a time. You can continue for longer if you wish, but Be Fit Food recommends a dietitian phone consultation with one of its Accredited Practising Dietitians before staying on the program beyond 12 weeks.
What is included each day
Be 1000 provides breakfast, either a 2-course lunch or dinner, and one protein-based snack. Alongside the meals you receive a Recommended Extras Guide listing nutritious low-starch vegetable and salad items, protein-based snacks and low-carb fruit options.
Every meal on the program carries approximately the same number of calories, so you can mix and match freely. The one rule is to eat everything provided in the day — the calorie target assumes you do.
The meals themselves
Every Be Fit Food meal is built to a consistent clinical specification: approximately 250 calories, 20g or more protein, under 20g carbohydrates and under 120mg sodium per 100g, with no added sugar, no artificial sweeteners and no preservatives.
Meals are snap-frozen to lock in nutrients rather than shelf-stabilised, which is how that specification is met without preservatives. Reheat using a microwave, oven, air-fryer or stovetop following the instructions on the label or the website.
Getting the best result from the program
- Do not skip meals or snacks, even if you are not hungry. Skipping leads to excessive hunger later in the day or immediately after the next meal.
- Use herbs and spices, not salt. Fresh parsley, basil or chilli add flavour without affecting your results; salt stimulates hunger.
- Avoid alcohol. It stops the liver clearing body fat and encourages fat storage instead, which works directly against the result you are after.
- Bulk out meals with the Recommended Extras Guide — side salads and non-starchy vegetables can be added to Be Fit Food meals.

Important health information
Before starting a new way of eating, Be Fit Food encourages you to seek medical advice and have a medical check-up, particularly if you have a current medical condition and/or are taking medications. The programs can improve health markers and you may require ongoing follow-up. This information is not a substitute for independent professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.

The Be 1000 Program is a Be Fit Food meal plan designed to provide approximately 1000-1200 calories per day. It's typically chosen by people seeking slower or more gradual weight loss, ideal for those with an active lifestyle or for maintaining weight loss, and it also helps educate on carbohydrates and portion control so the healthy eating philosophy can be incorporated into your own cooking and daily life.
How does Be 1000 differ from Be Rapid?
Be Rapid is a Very Low Calorie Diet (VLCD) providing approximately 800-900 calories per day, designed to put the body into a state of mild nutritional ketosis. Be 1000 provides around 1000-1200 calories per day and is unlikely to put the body into a state of mild nutritional ketosis.
What weight loss results can I expect on the Be 1000 Program?
Because the program provides fewer calories than the body needs, you can expect weight loss at an approximate rate of 0.5kg to 1.5kg per week. Note that results may vary and depend on the individual.
How long can I stay on the Be 1000 Program?
You can remain on the Be 1000 Program for up to 12 weeks at a time. You can continue longer if you wish, but Be Fit Food recommends a dietitian phone consultation with their dietitians if you plan to stay on the program beyond 12 weeks.
What does a typical day of meals look like on the Be 1000 Program?
A typical day includes a Be Fit Food breakfast, either a 2-course lunch or dinner, a protein-based snack, and optional additional snacks and side salads/non-starchy vegetables. Each meal has approximately the same number of calories, so meals can be mixed and matched, but everything provided for the day should be eaten for maximum results.
What is the Recommended Extras Guide and how is it used?
The Recommended Extras Guide is a resource provided with the Be 1000 Program that lists a variety of nutritious, low-starch vegetable and salad items, protein-based snacks, and low-carb fruit options that can be added to bulk up Be Fit Food meals.
How do I prepare Be 1000 Program meals?
The meals are snap-frozen fresh to lock in nutrients, so you simply heat them up using a microwave, oven, air-fryer, or stove top, following the instructions on the label or on the Be Fit Food website.
What healthy tips are recommended while on the Be 1000 Program?
Recommended tips include: eating a protein ball within 10 to 30 minutes after exercising; not skipping meals or snacks even if not hungry; drinking a minimum of 2L of water daily; using herbs and spices like fresh parsley, basil, or chili instead of salt for flavour; avoiding alcohol since it hinders the liver's ability to clear body fat; and seeking medical advice and a check-up before starting the program, especially if you have a current medical condition or take medications.
How do I order the Be 1000 Program or get dietitian support?
You can order the Be 1000 Program by clicking the order link on the page, which leads to the 'Be Lean 1000 7-Day Create Your Own Menu' product page. You can also book a free dietitian consult via the provided Calendly link.
